My work has been built through years of experimenting, failing, rebuilding, and refining.
Rather than following a traditional path, I’ve learned by creating, developing garments, studying construction, understanding materials, and constantly improving my craft.
That process continues every day.
I’m interested in building things that last, both physically and mentally.

David Slate is a self-taught pattern maker whose craft merges meticulous pattern engineering with the discipline of architectural precision.
Through years of independent study and experimentation, he has developed a design language defined by clean structural lines, calculated detail, and innovation, functionality, and conceptual expression.
Each creation is more than form and function, it’s a statement of intent, a translation of ideas into tangible expression, and craftsmanship built to last.
